Carole Joy Seid
Seminar speaker Carole Joy Seid is a veteran home school mother, who has a B.A. in fine arts from Hamilton College and a master's degree in education from S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo. She has taught in both public and Christian schools, has spoken at numerous conventions and works as an educational consultant with families across the country. Carole's heartfelt desire is to make your home schooling experience simple, enjoyable and affordable. At the core of her philosophy is the secret to educational success — great books, great books and more great books.
Carole comes by invitation to speak in different cities. Her day-long seminars focus on using classic literature to teach history as well as teaching a Christian worldview. Her approach includes not pushing children to learn important milestones, such as reading, until the individual child is developmentally prepared. Carole's seminars help parents to feel that they are truly in charge of their child's education and not just doing school at home.
She has three seminars. One is called "Let the Little Children Come" and is geared toward birth through the preschool years. Her basic seminar is called "A Literature Based Approach to Education," and the final one is entitled "Begin With the End in Mind" and really focuses on the junior high and high school years. Her seminars include fabulous book lists. Another great thing about her seminars is that she allows dads to come free of charge with their wives. She does this because she believes that it is an essential part of homeschooling to have the father be a big part of the homeschooling experience.
Carole also does consultations over the phone. She listens to everything about your child and really seems to grasp the dilemmas that the family is facing in educating their child(ren). She has wonderful advice and solutions to try, too.
